Working together....

Bringing food to the hungry in rural North Dakota

  Food Assistance for Food Producers?

While meeting the emotional and mental needs of our rural communities is tremendously important, we would not be taking a "holistic" approach unless we also address the basic human need for food.  It's hard to imagine that those who feed the world sometimes cannot put food on their own tables, but it is happening.  Our mission to offer healing, help and hope is further accomplished through our Food Assistance program.Dedicated workers in the warehouse

LRR's Food Assistance program is reclaimed grocery product packed into individual family boxes and made available to food cupboards, food shelves, churches and communities.  The contents are various types of non-perishable food, such as pasta, cereals, snack foods, canned foods, etc.  Dedicated volunteers at the Bottineau warehouse have carefully packaged over 10,000 boxes since July 1 of 1999!

This service is possible due to the collaborative effort of

Lutheran Rural Response, a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota

Lutheran World Relief       and the Orphan Grain Train,                                                                                programs of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

The Orphan Grain Train ships desperately needed materials to people in crisis situations around the world.  Their connection to these valuable resources enables us to provide food boxes statewide.

We salute our farmers and ranchers!

Those who have done so much for others are worthy and deserve our support in times when their personal resources are scarce.  To find out how your community can help, contact us at 1-800-950-2901.

This is one small way we can honor our food producers for their passion, determination and resilience.
